Hello! We're the Taylor family. We're the team behind Glenn Taylor Photography!

About us

Find out a little bit about us

Glenn Taylor Photography is a joint venture between man and wife Glenn & Hayley Taylor. With two entirely separate skill sets we have the knowledge and ability to execute photoshoots with great planning and understanding. Glenn is our photographer and is the person all of our clients get to spend their time with. Hayley works behind the scenes, with expertise in law, accounting, promotional and event planning.

How it began

Glenn Taylor Photography was nothing more than a dream for a number of years, a dream that realised its self on a holiday to Greece in 2018. During that family holiday Glenn had the opportunity to photograph a large proportion of a friend’s wedding, photographs which were very well received despite minimal experience in the field of event photography. In the weeks following we put our plan in to action, acquiring upgraded equipment and producing marketing materials.

Glenn has been photographing people and landscapes / scenery for what seems like a lifetime, picking up his first ‘real’ camera at the age of 16. Taking his passion and converting it in to a profession has always been the natural evolution, and since 2018 we have had the pleasure of photographing many Weddings, Christenings, Families and much more.

Being a married couple with our own little boy, we have in-depth knowledge of all the things our clients go through and after photographing many events we pride ourselves on being much more than just a photographer. We fully embed ourselves in to your day, almost becoming an extra guest that is there for emotional support, advice and a friendly hand on your shoulder during some of the most exciting yet nerve-wracking moments you will ever go through in life.

Our Approach

So how do we work?

A wedding day is a busy day, and as such requires a lot of work and attention from us to ensure we capture it the best we possibly can. So, how better to give you an introduction to how we work, than detailing the various parts of the day below?

The Consultation

Time to say hello

All of our wedding packages benefit from an online video consultation 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding day. Consultations are a fantastic way to introduce ourselves to you ahead of your big day, but also provides us the opportunity to ask questions about your day. For example, have you got any themes, hidden surprises (I’m looking at you, secret waiters!) and who is in your bridal party. These may seem like trivial questions but they build up a picture ahead of the day so we hit the ground running. The wedding consultation also offers you the chance to make changes to your booking. If you’re in need of a change to the hours, or you want us to rock up earlier – let us know.

Consultations are a relaxed, fun 30-60 minutes where you can tell us anything and everything we need to know.

Top tips for a successful consultation

  • Make some notes ahead of the consultation. For example, what time does your ceremony start, who is in your bridal party, who is the wedding organiser. This will help you feel more relaxed when we ask these questions.
  • Prepare some questions you want to ask us. For example, how are images chosen and delivered after the day.
  • Give us a time that works for you. It's a great time to have some time just as a couple (no offence, kids!) so you can fully engage and enjoy the consultation.
The Prep

Are you a morning person?

Ahhh the morning prep. On one hand, possibly the most stressful moment of your life (other than moving house, but that doesn’t register on the scale), on the other hand possibly the most chaotic moment of your life. Shoes everywhere, wine glasses/beer bottles everywhere, tears, belly laughs it truly is one of the most memorable parts of the day but also an incredibly important part.

Depending on your package, we usually aim to be with you 1-2 hours prior to the ceremony. This gives us plenty of time to capture some special moments between yourself and your bridal party and also head out to grab photos of the venue and ceremony room before the day begins.

If the other party isn’t getting ready in the same venue, we make sure to be in place for the moment they arrive. If they are in the same venue, we will always try and capture some moments of their prep too.

Top tips for a successful morning

  • Keep things tidy (or as much as possible). Although we do enjoy capturing the madness of a morning prep, we like to capture some beautiful clean images of you, your party and even details such as the wedding dress.
  • Tell us if you have any special details you would like capturing, i.e. special button holes, bracelets or even your shoes.
  • Appoint someone to liaise with us. Mornings are incredibly busy and we try to be aware of everything going on, but it helps to have someone to tap us on the shoulder if we might be about to miss something.
The Ceremony

The moment we’re all here for

The ceremony has finally arrived and it’s time for full stealth Glenn. Being the most important moment of the day, it’s incredibly important that we don’t get in the way or distract your friends and family during the ceremony.

You can however rest assured that I’m busy capturing all the important bits, the exchanging of rings, the first kiss, the emotions from you and your friends and family, the lot! We’re experts in stealth, and know how to ensure the focus is entirely on you.

Top tips for a successful ceremony

  • The best bit of advice we ever received during our wedding day, was to focus on your partner and simply don't look towards the large number of faces fixated on you. If you're prone to nerves, this is the most helpful bit of advice we can possibly give you to relax and enjoy the ceremony.
  • Choreograph your entrance. As a photographer there's nothing more difficult to photograph than all of your bridesmaids walking in at the same time. We want to capture every single person who is playing their part, so stagger your entrance and give each other time to move aside prior to walking down the aisle.
The Portraits

Time to relax… or maybe not

The ceremony has ended, you’ve enjoyed your reception drinks and the hundreds of congratulations you’ve received… It’s time for the portraits. For some, the portraits are a breeze. For others, the portraits are a dreaded part of the day that they just want to end. No matter which category you fall in to, we’re experts in managing the portrait sessions.

Once we’ve spent some time capturing all the members of your family and your wonderful friends, we head off for 10-20 minutes to capture some more intimate portraits without your guests around. As with all the photos we take, these are also very natural, relaxed and hands-off.

Top tips for a successful portrait session

  • We won't sugarcoat it, a portrait session can sometimes be frustrating. Some people genuinely don't enjoy being in front of the camera, something we fully sympathise with but relax and enjoy the time you're spending with friends and family. You'll look back on those photos and smile fondly, we promise.
  • Be prepared! During the consultation we'll likely mention it, but prepare a list of groups you'd like on the day with names. This allows us to shout out those names and try and keep the portrait session ticking. If you have more on the day that aren't on the list, no sweat!
The Party

Time to let your hair down

That’s it. The bridal prep is over, the ceremony hours behind us, you’ve had your wedding breakfast and delivered the speeches… That means just one thing… It’s party time! You’ve done the hard yards, you’ve married your best friend in the company of your loved ones and now it’s time to let loose.

It’s around this time we’ll capture the cake cutting, the dancing, more off the cuff shots and finally your first dance. Our packages tend to end after the first dance. We don’t mean that we up and leave the second the music stops, we stick around and capture the dancing that takes place just after the first dance too. We’re strong believers in allowing our couples, their friends and family to enjoy the day and some people can’t relax whilst a photographer is sticking a lens in their face.

Shortly after the first dance, we’ll give you a little nudge, shake your hand or give you a hug and say bye. We will leave you with our best wishes, and hope we are missing out on the best party that has ever been.

Top tips for a successful party night

  • Nothing. There are no tips to be had for the party. Be yourself, let loose, dance like you've lost the plot - take every minute in and enjoy it.
